Entry 45

Today was the anniversary of Betty's death. One year since she went to heaven. I stared at the picture and wept.

"I miss you angel.  Wait for me in heaven will you,"  I said to myself and then put my head in my hands.

"How do you know she went to heaven? She's a looker, she probably went to Hell." George said from the doorway. 

"Oh, George, I didn't realize that you were there, I'm sorry, I'm a little out of it because of the anniversary of my wife's death."

"I got something for you Old Man." George unrolled a poster. It contained a variety of old movie stills with an announcement sprawled across the top:

'GEORGE & GRACIE - One Night Only, performed by our community's very own volunteers'

He then grabbed my arm and gave me a big grin, "You see Troy, you can ask one of the local girls to the show and that will get your mind off of your wife."

I immediately ripped the poster in half and yelled at him,

"Do you have no sensitivity? I'm not taking another girl on a date on my wife's anniversary!"

He didn't care, "Suit yourself, I've got three birds that are dying to go out with me. One of them looks like her life insurance is worth a pretty penny."

I broke down sobbing.

George then did something very strange. He punched a hole in the wall.

Entry 44 - Group Therapy

Today was group therapy. Below is my account. I believe after today I am going to put in a request for anti-depressants.

The group assembled in a semi-circle, all the usual players were there -

George - the war veteran who hated everyone

Tyrone - an annoying body building control freak

Pierre - the recent pharmaceutical retiree

Estel - a frightening creature with a wicked smile on her face
